About us

UMBERTO MAISTO

Born in 1990, Umberto Maisto began studying classical guitar at the age of eight, graduating in 2008 with honors from the “Nicola Sala” Conservatory in Benevento under the guidance of Maestro Stefano Aruta. His advanced studies took him across Europe, allowing him to learn from the greatest names in international guitar, culminating in 2016 with a Master of Professional Music Performance at the Maastricht Academy of Music under Carlo Marchione.

His solid classical background took a new turn in 2020 when he joined the historic Nuova Compagnia di Canto Popolare, a pillar of Italian folk and singer-songwriter music. In 2025, his interpretive sensitivity led him to collaborate with the Silent Frame ensemble for the soundtracking of Elvira Notari’s film “La Santanotte,” performed at the Teatro Bolivar in Naples and the Cinema Ritrovato Festival in Bologna.

Today, Maisto is the instrumental heart of Medeidae. In this artistic partnership with Pasquale Fama and Luca Enipeo, he provides the project with a refined and complex guitar style. His ability to graft academic rigor onto experimental languages is the pivot of the Medeidae acoustic ensemble, where organic arrangements and intricate melodic textures envelop lyrics with an esoteric flavor.

PASQUALE FAMA

Born in 1985, Pasquale Fama follows an unconventional artistic path. After studying double bass at the Conservatory, he continued his training as a self-taught artist, nurturing his sensibility through philosophical inquiry, theosophical disciplines, and psychosynthesis. This multidisciplinary background is reflected in a writing style that ranges from Neapolitan tradition to contemporary experimentation.

Fama has composed for historic voices of the Campania scene rooted in the De Simone tradition — including Lello Giulivo, Gianni Lamagna, Brunella Selo, and Antonella Maisto — and has distinguished himself in the audiovisual world. His major works include the soundtrack for the animated short “ILLMATAR,” music for the “FLIP” festival, and a special mention for the score of the short film “Maschere,” winner of the 2025 Corto Flegreo Prize.

A pivotal moment in his career was his collaboration with the Silent Frame ensemble for the cine-concert dedicated to Elvira Notari, presented at the Teatro Bolivar and the Cinema Ritrovato Festival in Bologna. In 2024, his debut as a performer with the neo-soul single “Cride” marked the beginning of a new phase, culminating in his partnership with guitarist Umberto Maisto. Together, they founded Medeidae.

LUCA ENIPEO

Guitarist Luca Enipeo has linked his name to several major pillars of Italian and international music. Since 2001, he has been a key figure in the Manomanouche project, performing extensively at major jazz festivals (Torino Jazz Festival, Blue Note Milan, Casa del Jazz in Rome) and on exceptional stages such as the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing and the 2006 Winter Olympics. In this context, he has collaborated with artists like the Trio Debussy, Massimo Pitzianti, Jino Touche, Nunzio Barbieri, Florence Fourcade, and Park Stickney, while also serving as the artistic director of the Django Reinhardt Festival in Turin from 2001 to 2007.

Since 2009, his path has been steadily intertwined with that of Paolo Conte. As a guitarist in the Maestro’s orchestra, Enipeo has participated in studio recordings and European tours, performing in "temples of music" ranging from London’s Royal Albert Hall to the Opéra Garnier in Monte Carlo, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and Milan’s Teatro alla Scala, as well as prestigious events like the Montreux Jazz Festival.

Active in record production, he contributed to the theme song of the TV series “Fuoriclasse” starring Luciana Littizzetto. Today, Luca Enipeo brings his interpretive sensitivity to new musical narratives, collaborating with singer Sabrina Pallini on the album “Ti Porto a Napoli” and releasing the 2021 album “Off Stage Kissing You Mi Amor,” featuring theater compositions by Cosimo Morleo in collaboration with accordionist Bati Bertolio. In 2025, he began his collaboration with the Medeidae trio.
